OK – so you can chose to buy a piece of “Paradise”, but not sure where to call home on the island? Well – I have three words for you – location, location, location!
Everyone knows the old axiom of real estate. . . .
And Key West is a beautiful part of the purchase, regardless of where you buy – you have a good one!
For all intents and purposes – Key West real estate can be divided into three different areas *:
1st Old town
2nd New Town
3rd Casa Marina
Now you have to remember that the entire island is only four miles long and two miles wide – so real – it’s not much difference between the three geographically. . .
But – there is a different feel and state of each sector – and it is definitely worth a visit any time prior to the purchase of a piece of Key West.
My favorite part of the island is the center for many different reasons, both practical and simple personal preference. Many of my friends prefer the peace and quiet of New Town, or more water-friendly and exclusive Casa Marina. And while it is around the island, no matter where you live, I just love the feeling in the middle of action, while living in the heart of Old Town.
Key West has a lot of the “East-West” layout instead of “north – south” orientation – with the White Street as an informal dividing line between what the old town in the west viewed – and the New Town East.

”Old Town”, as the Historic District is an internationally known – not just a major tourist attraction in Key West – it is also home to many historic buildings recorded in full of charm, grace, and an incredible sense of history and purpose. You can find a shotgun-style homes – Bungalows Classic, Mini – mansions and all sorts of interesting structures in the beauty of Old Florida, many of the more unique and diverse style of the first settlers here several years ago.
Old Town Key West Homes is the nature of zoning restrictions, and changes in meaning and charm of the neighborhood and the streets – so, of course, if we buy into the old city, would be the best, “ask” before their planned major renovations for your dream home. . .
The Old Town is home to the Truman Annex – President Harry Truman’s “home away from home” – an internationally known Mallory Square, famous for its fantastic and phenomenal sunsets, and just as interesting to the night of performance artists – it is home to Fort Zachary, Duval Street (Key West version of Bourbon Street in New Orleans) and tourist-friendly, and too many other interesting local places of interest to mention here!

Old Town Key West is a wonderfully interesting and exciting place to call home – probably one of the most visually attractive and lively throughout the entire life of the United States. .
You are a “life of Paradise” – yet – yet the city and an active community, neighbors, businesses, great restaurants, fantastic nightlife and amazing scenery that only those who were here to prove to that experience every day.
The downside in all its magnificence, it is expensive!
General – Shopping Old Town is the most expensive areas to buy Key West.
All “Paradise” is expensive – but tend to Old Town – as one would expect that – buy the most expensive piece!
Houses are usually begins with the high six figures – many if not most of the profiles running over a million dollars – some even more.
Bargains can be found – you have to look, but if you keep your eyes open you can always find specific properties for sale far below market value. And remember – they offer real genuine “rich” rewards life has to tell you – if you do not live in Key West, you do not live at all!
